Doctors Visit, High Blood Pressure
Wednesday, September 6, 2006
Today I visited the doctor again. He took a good look at me and checked all of my vitals. He was very impressed with the way I was looking and the amount of weight I lost. However, he was not happy with my blood pressure. It was a little bit high (130 over 90). So he upped my blood pressure prescription. I was not happy - I want to decrease my medicinal intake, not increase it. In addition, he also suggested that I take one children's aspirin every day with dinner. Lucky me, I now get to take one additional medicine (aspirin is a medicine).
He also ordered an A1c blood test. The nurse that took my blood did mention that it has not been three months, but the doctor said that they should send it out for the test any way. I hope it does not come out too skewed, since it has only really been less than 2 1/2 months since being diagnosed, and only 2 months since getting my blood sugar levels to a normal level. But from what I have read, that even though there is three months of sugar residue in the blood, the results of the test are weighted towards the end of the time period. We shall see.
I do not think my blood pressure should have been so high.
