Independence Day and Bar-B-QsWednesday, July 5, 2006 Yesterday was July 4th, and July 4th means BBQs and lots of food. I am happy to say that I stuck to my diet. We went over a friend's house for lunch & dinner. They had 16 oz. burgers - they were big, and juicy and looked just so good . . . but I was good, I had a quarter pounder which was an ounce more of meat than on my plan, but a little cheating like that is not bad. For dinner, they had steak and chicken. I had chicken with a little piece of steak. To tell you the truth, dinner was not satisfying -- I could have had a lot more of the steak. I stayed away from all of the junk food they put out all day and stayed with the veggie platter and allowed myself to have one single shrimp. Went back to work today after being out for almost a week. I must admit that I felt good today (was it the diet working, or being out of work for a week?).
