One Week and Still SurvivingSunday, July 2, 2006 It is has been one week since I was diagnosed with diabetes. I am starting to get used to my diet, but still not happy with it. I still have diabetes, but there is nothing I can do about it. Tomorrow I am home from work and need to call Accu-Check to find out how to work that machine - then I get to bleed myself every day for the rest of my life. No, not looking forward to that at all. I enjoyed spending time with my family all weekend - I guess this is what I am doing all of this for. I do not smoke, drink only occasionally, nor do I gamble, so food is my only real indulgence. If I did not have a family, would I follow this diet, or not care and eat whatever makes me happy? I do not know. I started building the website today and transcribing parts of my journal, I should have something online tomorrow.
