Away for the WeekendSaturday, July 1, 2006 We left early this morning and had breakfast on the road. We stopped off at a Friendly's restaurant because we though it would be good for the kids. They have good lunches and dinners for a family, but the breakfasts, as I found out was not good. I brought my medicine and diet plan to the restaurant and made my order - a cheese omelette and asked for slices of tomato instead of the hash browns (no meat either). They made the omelette with three eggs, so I cut out one-third of it and gave it away. I was kind of bothered by the restaurant, however, because they just gave me a few tomato shavings instead of a few slices which they would have put on anyway (they put them on another omelette we ordered) - and they still charged me as though I ordered the bacon and hash browns. We bought some cold cuts and bread (I got some multi-grain bread) and I was able to make myself a roast beef sandwich (with 3 oz. of meat) and some vegetables. For dinner I cheated a little bit. I stuck with all my proportioned items, but grilled myself a 7 oz. steak. I have been good all week, so a little cheating is okay, I think. It is not like I had cake, candy or that entire container of potato salad. I could have had another 15 or 20 ounces instead of the side salad.
